‘moving targets’ was 1 of the 1st songs i recorded after finishing the ‘popular’ album. i held onto the song for another 3 years b4 adding it to ‘what were you hoping for?’ -for many people, ‘MT’ is their favourite song of mine. i wrote it about a politician, their attempt to be elusive, avoid answers, and perpetuate an atmosphere of uncertainty and opportunity. but, u don’t have 2 know that to enjoy the song or form ur own interpretation abt what it says. i’d like to give a special thanX to beckie wilson for allowing me to use her skillful contortions to make this video.

This is synth minimalism of the “Warm Leatherette” variety, with plinking analog electronics and wry, disaffected vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 20, 2019
